| Generally, items of art, literature, music and various types of collectables including natural history artifacts and specimens. | ||

| How are the values of the collections and specimens determined? | |
| The values are a reflection of fair market value, or a value that would be supported within a public market if such items were available commercially. | ||

| What types of documentation are needed? | |
| 1. | An acknowledgment and "deed of gift" from the donee. | |
| 2. | A detailed report of the appraisal indicating the specifics of the items donated and the values assigned. | |

| 3. | The completed IRS form 8283 (Noncash Charitable Contributions) which is signed by the donor, tax preparer (if any) and the appraiser. |
